Hummingbirds

I put out the two hummingbird feeders that I got from my parents and Andrew's parents for Christmas and prayed hummingbirds would find it and they did.  We have quite a few different types that come and visit our feeders, one is the Ruby-throated Hummingbird which has a red neck.  The hummingbird in the bottom picture sits on the hook and guards the feeders chasing off any other hummingbirds that want a drink.  The cats like to watch them from the window.  The hummingbirds are not scared of Andrew and I and buzz around us when we are outside.

Huntsville Botanical Gardens

Sunday Sept 9 we went to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.  We spent all afternoon walking the gardens and enjoying the plants, butterfly house, and nice weather.

Battle of Decatur

Over labor day weekend we went to Decatur to watch the reenactment of the battle for Decatur which happenned during the civil war in 1864.  It was interesting to watch with lots of big booms from the cannons.  We enjoyed homemade root beer and birch beer after the battle.
