We went and got our Christmas tree on Saturday Nov 27. We decided to try a new farm this year but didn't stay long. It was a farm of Charlie Brown Christmas Trees. We couldn't find one good one, they were all cut very short and fat, so we drove back to the farm we went to last year and found our tree. So far the kitties have been pretty good with it, the only thing they try to do is eat it and maybe play with a few ornaments. Christmas is almost here! We are excited to come home.

Little River Canyon
My super strong husband holding up the rock, thats why i married him!

The waterfall at the beginning of the canyon, this is a dry season so there wasn't much water going over it. We'll have to go back in the spring.
My parents came down to visit October 15-20. We had a good time with great weather. On Saturday we went to Little River Canyon which is about an hour and a half southeast of us. It was beautiful with all of the leaves changing color. We went hiking down to the falls and the river. We had a picnic there and took a scenic drive with multiple overlooks. On my birthday we played frisbee golf and ate at a japanese steakhouse, and then watched the movie Date Night. Funny movie if you haven't seen it yet. We still have great weather around here, in the 70s and 80s. Yesterday we had some terrible storms come through. The sirens went off about seven times and there were tornados spotted. It actually scared me because of how strong the rain and wind was, but there was no damage around here so that was good. This weekend we are planning on going to a pumpkin patch or corn maze so that we can carve some pumpkins for Halloween.

Peppers and a new Kennel
We bought a kennel for Lily so that she is ready for her trip to Lincoln in December. Both her and Krissy love to sleep in their kennels now or on top of them. We picked the rest of our peppers. We let two of them change to red. They were all delicious. Next year we will have to plant more peppers and Okra since they produced the most on our porch with limited sunlight. My mom and dad are coming down to visit next weekend for my birthday. We are hoping for good weather so we can spend time outside. Midterms are next week so both Andrew and I have been studying this weekend. Crazy we are already half way through this semester. Pretty soon Thanksgiving will be here, and then Christmas, yeah!

Hurricane Creek Park
Sunday Sep 5 Andrew and I went to Hurricane Creek Park to hike. It is a canyon about an hour south of us. One of our favorite parts was the twilight tunnel which is a long and skinny crack in a rock wall that you can walk through. Another neat formation was the natural bridge which I am standing on top of in the picture. It was a nice area which we will have to go back to in the fall when there are waterfalls.
US Space and Rocket Center
Ken and Arlene came to visit Aug 24 and stayed through the weekend. We had a great time together. On Saturday we went to the US Space and Rocket Center where Ken and I rode the space shot which is like the detonator. I wanted to ride it, but then I got really nervous and was regretting my decision. I think I was the only one screaming the whole time we were on the ride. But it was fun! That evening we went to Green Mountain where we walked around the lake.
Lily
We got another cat on August 3, 2010. Andrew and I had seen her listed on the same adoption site that we got Krissy from for months and wanted her but didn't know if it was the right timing. Well after 4 months of checking the web page and thinking about her we decided to get her. They had found her as a kitten almost dead. Her litter was attacked by a wild animal and she had internal and external injuries. She is now completely healed and normal except for her right paw which always sticks out to the side. She is a wonderful cat. She is one year old just like Krissy. She has a very sweet personality. She loves to be petted and kneads pillows. She is very laid back and likes to be near us. Krissy had a hard time adjusting to having another cat in her fortress for a while but she is doing much better now. Her and Lily like to chase eachother around the house. One will hide behind a door or a corner and jump out and chase the other. They also like to play behind doors sticking their paws under them. One of their favorite places to go is out on our screened in porch.

Dismals Canyon
Saturday we drove to Dismals Canyon where we hiked. We stayed until dark and then went on a night hike where we saw what they call dismalities which are bugs that glow in the dark. Usually they have thousands of them but this year there were only around 15. We will have to go back again when they have more. It was a very beautiful area. In one of the pictures Teresa and I are standing inbetween two rock walls called Fat Mans Misery. It was the original entrance to the canyon. Sunday we went to Green mountain where we walked the trail and then Monday we drove Teresa and Jesse to the airport where they left for South Korea. We had a great time together.

Summer 2010
Here are some pictures of Krissy napping with me, helping Andrew with homework, helping with laundry, and helping us pack the suitcase. The tunnel is her newest toy which she loves to jump and hide in. Our garden has been growing a lot lately and we just harvested two okra today. We'll have to see how they taste tonight. The picture on top is of an okra flower which are very beautiful.
Andrew has been very busy with school work this summer. He just got back from a conference in Nashville of which i was very jealous of all the good food he got to eat, but he did bring me back a present of shampoo and conditioner! I've been working and taking two classes this summer. Next weekend we pick up Teresa and Jesse from the airport and then after they leave for South Korea, Ken and Arlene are going to visit, so it will be very nice to have company. Hopefully we'll have nice weather when they are here so we can spend time hiking and swimming.
