July 2016

On the Fourth of July we went to a friends house for supper and then watched the Madison Firework show on their driveway. We had a great view! Lila fell asleep during the show and Emma loved it, ooohing and awwing during it, then asking for more once it was over. I went back to work 2 days a week the beginning of July and Emma & Lila did well adjusting to going to Heather's house. Andrew had to travel to Utah for a conference the end of July for 4 days. We survived the 4 days at home but were happy to see him when he got back!

In June we got to spend time in Lincoln with family & Lila got to meet her aunts, uncles, cousins and great grandmas and grandpa. The car ride was not as horrible as we thought it would be. It was a long day but we survived. While in Lincoln we spent time with family and got to go to the zoo twice. Emma enjoyed all the animals and got to pet a snake. This month Lila started smiling and cooing a lot!

When we got home from our trip to Lincoln our AC wasn't working so we spent the day at Heather & Lilly's house. Emma loved going down the slide over and over and over again!

Lila Emery Hiatt

Lila Emery Hiatt arrived on April 30, 2016. She was born at Madison Hospital weighing 6 lb 8 oz and 20 inches long. She was a healthy beautiful girl with brown hair and blue eyes. The week of Lila's arrival was quite hectic. Emma was sick and we had multiple Dr visits to find out Emma had a double ear infection and needed tubes again. I then got sick from Emma with a bad cold and cough and couldn't sleep at night. Tuesday I had a Dr visit and found out I was 3 cm dilated and 80 % effaced. Wed night I started having irregular contractions. Grandma & grandpa arrived at our house Thursday night to help out. Saturday morning I woke up at 3 am with painful contractions 5 mins apart. I woke up Andrew and we got to the hospital at 4 am. I progressed quickly and by the time I got the epidural I was 9 cm dilated. The Dr then broke my water and I started pushing, 30 mins later Lila was born at 7:36 am. I was very thankful for a quick labor considering I was not feeling well. Grandma & grandpa stayed and helped out the next week and then Meme & Papa came down to help.

April 2016

We spent April getting ready for Lila's arrival. We finished Emma's new room and spent the weekends doing fun things with Emma.

Easter

In March grandma & grandpa came to visit.We dyed eggs with them to celebrate Easter and took them to Bridgestreet for pizza & icecream. We put them to work while they were visiting, mom helped me dig up flowers and replant them and dad helped me build the headboard for Emma's new room. Emma enjoyed her time with them!

Dec 2015

This month we went to the downtown Madison Christmas light parade which Emma loved. Her favorite part of the parade were the dogs and horses. We also drove around town and looked at the Christmas lights and Emma sat in the back seat making the sign for "more" the whole time. She enjoyed herself! I had an Ultrasound the week before we went home for Christmas and found out we are having another girl! We drove through the night to Lincoln to spend the holidays at home. Emma slept most of the trip except for stops to get gas. We loved our time home with family and were excited to see snow on Christmas Eve. Emma enjoyed carefully unwrapping her presents little by little this year, just as excited about the paper as the toy. We spent Christmas Eve with the Hiatt's and Christmas day with the Barry's. Andrew & I got to see the new Star Wars movie while home with his family and I threw a baby shower for Teresa. It was a busy but fun trip home.
